Who Knew?

April 4th, 2013 . by admin

I stumbled upon this idea while searching for something completely different, as happens with everyone when they do a Google search and start down the rabbit hole of the internet.  Technology has come so far, even further than the pioneers had thought, as proven with this 1943 quote from then IBM Chairman Thomas J. Watson, Sr. “I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.”  WOW!  So then I started to wonder what the other powerhouses thought when they were just a start-up company or a person with a far-fetched, futuristic idea.  This leads into my weekly installment of “Who Knew?” where I will try to bring a little history lesson and pause to think about where it all came from instead of wondering what’s the newest, greatest, next big thing.  This is as much for me as everyone else since I came from the pre-internet days when we checked books out from the library, cell phones didn’t exist and Atari was our first gaming console.  Hope you enjoy.
